Happy New Year- 2010
Total slacker - that's what I've been. Since I moved home, there really hasn't been a reason to break out my camera b/c the parents take so very very many pictures. Also, my life has been exceedingly unexciting, so there hasn't been anything to report. interviewing, spending time with the family and searching for jobs has pretty much defined my life. There is no reason for this post either, except that I've been studying a few topics in the scriptures and just in general and I found a couple things I wanted to write down somewhere.
From Emily's inspiration, I've set quite a few goals for myself this year. Some of them are silly and small and some are big and momentous, but most are just daily reminders and improvement on things I should already be doing. In the course of studying though, I found this book called The Promise of Enough, seven principles of true abundance. Always needing help identifying my blessings, I thought this was a good place to start. She adapted the following from the talk "The Abundant Life" by Joseph B. Wirthlin in Conference back in 2006. I remember this talk, and I love how she's adapted it. Just a reminder, to go along with all those resolutions and goals we've set for the New Year.
There is a spark of greatness within every one of us – a gift from our loving and eternal heavenly Father. What we do with that gift is up to us.
Walk in joy.
Radiate happiness.
Be filled with wonder.
Fill your minds.
Reach out to others.
Create a masterpiece.
Walk with an inner fire.
Love the Lord.
Strengthen your testimonies.
Magnify your callings.
Enlist in great and noble causes.
Create sanctuaries of holiness and strength
Good luck in this new year and new decade! I know I'm going to need it!!

You are always a guiding light! I think I will set some goals for this year to help me accomplish something wonderful and new in my life now that I am truly an "empty nester". (I'm going to read the book, too). Thanks for all your help lately!!
