Can you spot the wild animals?

Hello from Texas! Mom, Natalie and I decided to take a quick trip to Killeen to see Melissa and the girls. We just didn't have quite enough fun at Christmas, so we extended it a bit. As usual, we took a vacation in a vacation, and went down to San Antonio for a couple days. On the way down, we stopped at the natural caverns Wildlife Preserve. I'm not sure you could call the animals "wild", as they all seemed very well trained and domesticated. But the adventure was definitely wild. If it wasn't a seriously disturbed Ostrich who decided to try and peck out our window, it was an entire herd of zebra not only trying to eat our food, but actually trying to get in our car and escape the preserve.

Watusi. These things scared us all with their huge horns...but they were way more docile than the Ostriches

He can't keep his eyes open for the camera either!!

He really loved Melissa

We literally got the window up with no seconds to spare. He almost pecked our eyes out

Another one who we tried not to let in. He was really sweet, but those horns are just not safe inside a minivan!

The zebras were my favorite part...they really really loved us...all of us. They smiled, ate, and even tried to share their own food with us!

Can you see the stripes inside his mouth??

Hey - do I have something in my teeth? Are there any teeth that don't have something in them?

This guy was extra anxious for some food. We slipped a bit out the crack in the window, but first he ate the sticker right off the car window. He tried to eat the fingers off the girls...but alas...the window was just a little too strong to peck through!

After we drove through the preserve, the kids became part of the preserve - they look as wild as the goats, don't you think?

These are the wild animals we decided to bring home with us!

One more time through the park...this little guy just had to say goodbye!

I have to say that the Zebras were my favorite part of the Wildlife Preserve...they waited for us to throw the food in their mouths, but at least they didn't try to peck us to death like the giant birds!! What a fun trip--thanks for the pictures!

Those Ostriches are very scary, but when you get a big camel in the car window you may wonder why the window was not closed. Not only do they stink, but the heads are so big that there is not much room for anyone else in the seat, and you don't dare to push the head out either, in fear of loosing a hand or fingers in the process. I was at the Winston Wildlife Safari and got a close encounter the third day in this country, and the camel was the first to be really close and personal with me.

Crazy! I'm not sure I ever want to be that close to "wild" animals!

Hey, Kiddo. These are great pictures of the zoo animals. The zebra was really something. Who would have thought that the inside of his mouths was striped also? I love you.
